Europol Testimonial
Europol is the European Law Enforcement Organisation which aims at improving the effectiveness and co-operation of the competent authorities in the Member States in preventing and fighting terrorism, unlawful drug trafficking and other serious forms of international organised crime.
Europol has been using The Network since 2005, mainly to look for ICT professionals.
Mrs Maynard from Europol :“We chose The Network, for external online recruitment, as we hope that we can reach the market for ICT specialists. Putting the job description only on our website is not enough. The market requires more.”
Europol has a Staff regulation where it is stated that they must recruit from all European members states. Mrs Maynard said: “as we do not offer indefinite contracts, it is important for us to constantly recruit new staff. ICT personnel mainly require a lot extra and if they cannot achieve their personal development goals within Europol, they will look elsewhere (Europol is not a career development organization).”
Europol decided to work with The Network because : “We believe that the Network has good reach in the European Member States and we think it is a professional site with a very customer friendly approach. We also noticed that quite a lot of Academically skilled people are subscribed with the Network.”
They don’t really analyze their results thoroughly, but for ICT recruitment, the Countries performing the best for Europol are Germany, Netherlands, and Eastern European countries such as Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia.
At the Moment, Europol is using the Network as a tool to advertise their jobs descriptions, but they are working on more visual branding such as banners in order to get more feedback from the ICT market.
