Hudson, one of the world’s leading recruitment and human resource consultancies and a division of the Hudson Highland Group, has been using The Network to source candidates across Europe since 2003.
'We started using The Network on an ad hoc basis at first. However, at the beginning of 2004 we realised that we could benefit from signing a pan-European contract. This would enable us to consolidate contracts held at a local level and maximize the potential of the relationship,' says Debbie La, UK interactive product manager.
The Network offers recruiters significant advantages, La continues: ‘It gives us a global reach – not just in terms of finding talent but for promoting our own and our clients’ brands. As a leading global recruitment provider, Hudson uses the network for both Hudson branded vacancies and individual client branded advertising.
For Hudson branded advertising, the firm’s local country offices use The Network on a pan-European basis. ‘It enables them to post jobs and promote the global brand on country specific sites. It also gives them access to a diverse jobseeker population and is a good, alternative source of candidates,’ La says.
For its client branded advertising, Hudson uses The Network in a different way. ‘Our client branded advertising is co-ordinated by our Interactive Team in the UK and we use it to target candidates in the UK, Europe and globally. Because we recruit mid-level to senior professionals, many of our campaigns require us to cast our nets wide in the search for talent. As The Network now extends globally, we know that we are only one phone call away from finding out what the top sites are in each country and which local site The Network is affiliated with.
‘Our account manager is a consistent source of knowledge, not just on The Network sites but also on how they compare to other local sites enabling us to make value judgments on the methods of candidate attraction we use for each campaign. It enables us to take advantage of local market knowledge while still getting the benefit of a single account manager who can advise on job boards within The Network. Our account manager liaises with each job board, this saves us having to deal with multiple contacts in multiple languages, and multiple invoices!
