London is the most popular place in the world to work, followed by New York and Sydney. This is one of the results from the Global Talent Mobility Research, a study concerning mobility of employees on international labor markets, which was executed in July and August of this year and included 66.019 respondents coming from over 40 different countries around the world. The research also showed that a country was preferred over a city if someone had to choose for one of both. The most popular country to work in, is the United States of America. More than half of the international mobile workforce wants to work in the USA.

Countries are more important than cities when choosing a company abroad
The Global Talent Mobility Research shows that, when people are deciding on a company abroad, the country where the company is located is of more importance than the specific city. Up to 66% of the respondents find the country more important. 34 Percent prefer a city over country where the company is located.
The most popular country in the world where international mobile workforce would like to work, turned out to be the United States of America. Of all respondents up to 52 percent would like to work in the USA, followed by the United Kingdom (47%) and Canada (43%). “International mobility will increase enormously in the future. Due to (for instance) demographic developments, like aging labor markets in Western countries and increasing amounts of talent in China and India, globalization of the labor market will accelerate”, stated by Geert-Jan Waasdorp, CEO at Intelligence Group. “The employer brand cannot be isolated from the attractiveness of the (possible) location of a company.
