Jobejee is a job portal website and an application in Nepal, designed with all of job seekers’ and employers’ needs in mind. With Jobejee, job seekers can search and apply for jobs with optimal ease and also have a stress-free application process. Jobejee’s advanced features allow candidates to find their perfect job within minutes and apply for it with a single click. They are also able to easily assess their resume performance and track applications. On the other side, Jobejee lets employers post jobs that help them reduce the number of unqualified applicants through features such as questionnaires and key skill based job posts.
As for the labor market in Nepal, according to International Labor Organization (ILO), on the back of the earthquake that struck Nepal in 2015, economic growth declined from 5.9 per cent in 2013/14 to 2.7 per cent in 2014/15 and 0.6 per cent in 2015/16.2 In terms of the impact on the labor market, estimates suggest that 5.6 million workers were affected by the earthquake, impacting livelihoods and reducing incomes. Despite the slight dip in out-migration in 2015, the lack of decent work opportunities at home continues to push people to seek employment abroad. The top-five destinations for Nepali migrant workers are Malaysia (40.9 per cent), Saudi Arabia (22.9 per cent), Qatar (20.3 per cent), United Arab Emirates (11.2 per cent) and Kuwait (2.1 per cent).
