eJobs, the leading job platform in Romania, launched Score2Skill in April 2024, a unique project and complex tool that translates gaming skills into professional abilities, with the goal of simplifying employment for 18 to 24 year olds by making their skills more attractive to recruiters.

Although 35% of the total job offers are for entry level and inexperienced candidates, Romania has an unemployment rate of over 20% among the 18 to 24 year olds, ranking 4th in the EU. Score2Skill comes as a solution for this issue, offering employers valuable, scientifically validated information about candidates with little or no experience.

eJobs, which has 160.000 yearly active users aged 18-24, representing 32% of total job seekers and generating over 3 million applications per year (out of a total of 10 million per year), took the lead in resolving the case of unemployment among Gen Zers.

Score2Skill is a playful assessment, developed following an extensive process that included 6 months of research and 4 research stages, which maps 8 important soft skills (agility, leadership, teamwork, performance, risk management, analytical thinking, creativity and proactivity) and 4 relevant personality traits (agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability and openness to new experiences), abilities and descriptors that can help recruiters make informed decisions when hiring less experienced talent or even candidates with no previous work experience.

In order to discover how they score at all these skills and traits, users are asked to choose the game they play the most (out of the top 5 video games played in Romania: Call of Duty, Counter-Strike, FIFA/FC, League of Legends or Valorant) and answer questions about their gaming style and results as honestly as possible. At the end of the assessment they receive a super detailed profile that they can then add to their CVs, so recruiters can get to know them better and know what they’re capable of.

The campaign rollout included an influencer campaign with 6 of the biggest local gamers that generated 23.1 hours of online streaming, over 60.000 total views and more than 1.500 completed assessments coming from people watching the live streams. Whilst on the main eJobs Romania channels, Score2Skill generated over 280.000 impressions in social media, more than 85.000 views and over 17.000 completed assessments from 24.000 started, therefore obtaining a 70% conversion rate.

The project has also gained local acknowledgement from Romanian TV and radio stations, and local publications, was enrolled for the Cannes Lions advertising festival and was showcased in June at Big Idea, the biggest creativity conference in Bucharest.

Since then, Score2Skill has generated a total of 29.100 completed assessments, helping tens of thousands of users to complete their CVs with relevant information that can help them impress recruiters.
